Painter

Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, and patching walls, ceilings, and trim. Apply primer, paint, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Select and mix paints, stains, and finishes to match specifications and color requirements. Cover and protect fixtures, floors, and surfaces not being painted using tarps and tape. Read blueprints and specifications to determine paint types, colors, and finish requirements. Inspect completed work for proper coverage, texture, and finish quality. Clean and maintain painting tools, equipment, and spray guns. Follow safety protocols when working with paints, solvents, and other chemicals. Previous experience as a painter or in a related trade preferred. Knowledge of different paint types, finishes, and application techniques. Ability to read blueprints and specifications. Steady hand and attention to detail for clean, precise finishes. Physical stamina for standing, climbing ladders, and working overhead for extended periods. Understanding of proper ventilation and safety procedures when handling paints and solvents.
